There are many local non-profit organizations that are working for the Blackstone River.  

History of advocacy for the Blackstone River Watershed in the 1970s was heroic. And many more watchdog organizations have emerged.

In 2014, the Corridor thanked the wisdom of those who envisioned a national park back in the 1970s.

Documentary Film

"Operation ZAP" (1974) is a documentary film about the Blackstone River clean-up from Woonsocket to Providence Rhode Island on Saturday September 9th, 1972. Planning for this began in 1971. The narrator of the film, David M Rosser (1899-1975) was the visionary who articulated the future of the Blackstone River Valley.   Clean up the River and create interstate linear park system along the floodplain from Worcester to Providence.
